So this is a post to tell you that department store sizes are stupid. I took these pictures within 5 seconds of each other (the amount of time it took to take off and put on a new pair). They are ALL the same size and are ALL the same brand and ALL the same cut of shorts.
One pair is more snug, one is extremely baggy, one is ‘just right’, and one is just a tiny bit big. It is like Goldilocks and the Three bears ( I guess 4 bears in this scenario)
I am posting this because 1. I am angry that I bought them all without trying each one on because now some of them don’t fit properly 2. Because so many girls (and guys probably) go into the dressing room and freak out because their ‘normal’ size doesn’t fit.
My pant size can range between a 00-4 depending on brands. That is a HUGE gap.
Cool your jets, grab a second pair and a size up and down. It doesn’t mean you gained weight necessarily it means that maybe the pants are just cut differently than usual.
So just open your eyes and find pants to fit your thighs (yes I purposefully made that rhyme).
I had almost 1.5 gallons of water yesterday. Water weighs more than milk. A gallon of milk is aprox. 8lb. So I drank at least 10-12 pounds worth of water throughout the day.
So if I had weighed myself at a time where I had a majority of the water in my body, the scale would have caused me to believe I gained a few pounds in the last few days.
I just thought I would share this.

Bacon… 90 Calories.. 5g Protein
1 Tilapia Filet… 90 calories.. 20g protein.

Tilapia = Mon-Sat Meal Time :)
Bacon is awesome. So is Tilapia. Eat them both. Or don’t. On days where I need high protein of course I will be eating Tilapia over bacon. On days where I can eat whatever I want - pass. me. the. bacon.
Mom - 14lb in the last month! (She began with weights 2x a week and going on a walk every night - she is now doing weights 3x a week and running 5 miles on her out of gym days)
Dad - I don’t know the exact number of what he is lost, but I know he has 7lb more until he reaches his goal. So I think he has lost around the same as my mom. (Gym 3-4x a week, walks 2x a week)
Leslie (my friend who is living with us) - :/ She got frustrated that she didn’t lose much in the first two weeks, and stopped. (She ate clean for 2 weeks with little exercise maybe 1x a week…)
I am so proud of my parents and their progress! My mom is back to running which is what helped her lose weight a few years ago but then after an injury she stopped. She is now able to run 5 miles (I can’t do that) and my dad is looking awesome for 50 years!
I wish I could help my friend with motivation but like my trainer says, getting healthy takes .5seconds. All you need is to make the decision to make the change and then you go. Her motivation is not in my control.
I wish I could kindly explain to her that she needs to do physical activity + eating clean to make the changes she wants. Just a walk everyday, or a nice swim, anything really.
I am trying to not be frustrated and annoyed by my friends lack of interest to effort, she just wants it to happen and not put work into. It has been really different to not grab her and shake her and just like word vomit all over her.
My friend is upset that she is not losing a whole bunch of weight because she started eating ‘healthier’.
Yes she has cleaned up her diet considering what it used to be.
BUT you get what you work for. You asked for advice, and you do not listen to it.
If you only want to eat somewhat healthy & not do workouts then you are only going to get those results.
You can’t compare yourself to other people who eat clean and work-out and lost weight at a more rapid speed — you didn’t work out as much or as hard.
So please stop complaining to me that your progress is miniscule and that you are frustrated that other people are losing weight and you aren’t. It is in your control. It is all you - I can’t do the workouts for you.
